The Gulf on Okaloosa Island Wedding, Destin, FL || Maddie + Joe
Maddie and Joe’s wedding day was fun, intimate, and non-traditional. There were so many aspects all throughout the day that were so special and heartfelt to them as a couple.
The things that were incorporated into their day were different but felt true to them. For example, instead of a bouquet toss, there was a ladies-only dance, and Maddie ended up giving her bouquet to her mom. Another unique aspect they incorporated was a final dance under the stars after their bubble exit. Joe’s best man also adjusted his suit jacket after Maddie’s maid of honor adjusted her dress, a fun touch that added some laughs to the ceremony. Something that I thought was so special was Maddie turned her grandmother’s wedding tiara into her headpiece. And lastly, Maddie surprised her dad during their Father/Daughter dance with a ball and gloves and they played a game of catch together, an incredibly fun and sweet moment between the two of them.
There was an overarching theme of the day and it was fun, lighthearted, but so intentional at the same time. If something traditional doesn’t feel like you or fit your vision, don’t be afraid to switch it for something that feels more authentic to you and what you’ve dreamed up for your big day.
