Pensacola In-Home Anniversary Session || Tim + Hannah
I cannot get over how beautiful this intimate, in home session turned out! I had been watching Hannah share some photos of her home on Instagram for a while and every time I saw them pop up I wanted to ask if I could please photograph her and Tim in it! Finally got around to asking and she said yes! Obviously. I had a specific vision for how I wanted the session to look and I wanted light streaming through their windows to achieve that look. So after rescheduling a few times due to cloudy weather and sickness, we finally got to do it! It could not have been more perfect.
We sunbathed in the window light, talked about their life, played with their dogs, and laughed when Tim played the ukulele off key. Fun fact, Tim gave Hannah that ukulele he’s holding to her as her first Christmas gift before they even started dating! It was his childhood one and so it was very special to them. Also, that small ukulele that Hannah is holding was a gift from her sister from either Bali or Indonesia! When doing sessions in couples homes I’m always looking for objects for them to interact with and things to do, which is why I asked them to pick the instruments up. It’s pretty special when I hear later the meaning behind certain objects.
Another thing that happens as sessions go on and couples get more comfortable is they start loosening up and doing things habitually. In the photos of them sitting at their table with Tim facing backwards, notice Tim’s feet. An awkward thing to notice, but hear me out. Hannah later said that Tim curls his toes when sitting all the time and even though she thinks it’s weird, having it documented kinda made her sentimental, lol. It’s the little details that really make a photo special and meaningful!
This was also my first session using feathers and it was honestly really fun! I love anything that adds depth and dimension and gets my couples to interact with each other.
Taking photos outside in nature is awesome, but if you want some intimate, lifestyle photos taken in your first house together, your dream home, or maybe even a cute airbnb, hit me up! I would honestly love to do more sessions in a temperature controlled environment!
