Tan Lines House Backyard Wedding in Rosemary Beach, 30a | Carli + Kyle

After about 6 years of dating, Kyle asked Carli to marry him on a sailboat at sunset in August of 2020 and they hoped to get married on the same date in a place that was special to them near the water. They were supposed to get married in August 2021 but ended up having to postpone it to April 2022, which ended up having much cooler temps!

Carli mentioned her inspiration was a previous wedding I had done at the same beach house! She wanted something more laid back for the photography to match the relaxed feel of the day. My photos felt more like art to her and weren’t the typical stiff, more staged photos. Exactly what I go for! You can find the link to the previous wedding at the end.

Carli + Kyle wanted to spend as much time as possible with each other on their wedding day, so we scheduled a whole hour away at Rosemary Beach before their ceremony and it was perfect. They had their first look in the little courtyard by the Town Hall, private vows in a tree-lined walkway, and we of course took lots of fun photos along the way. During the first look, Kyle accidentally turned around before we were ready and saw Carli, but we laughed it off and it was a fun moment. Little things like that may happen throughout the day and I always say go with it! Those little moments will make up memories from the day. If taking your time and enjoying the day is something you want to do plus have lots of photos of just you two, this is something I recommend. They later said the first look and portraits were the best decision they made for their day, besides committing to each other in front of a few family and friends, and I couldn't agree more.

A few details of their reception that I really loved were the big letters that make up their last name and also the After the Tone voicemail guest book, where your guests can leave you a message that you can listen to later. Such a fun way to have so many audio messages from your guests! During their reception, we snuck down to the beach so they could have a few moments just to themselves. They enjoyed some wedding cake by the ocean and spent a few minutes talking about the day and laughing together.
