Live Oak Plantation Wedding in Pensacola || Shawn + Nutcha
I freaking love it when my couples refer me to their friends! I photographed Jason + Emily’s wedding almost 3 years ago and Nutcha was there! These amazing women were both dolphin trainers at the Gulfarium in Destin and I was so excited when Nutcha reached out to me. I had so much fun with Jason + Emily, so I could only imagine how awesome Shawn + Nutcha’s wedding would be too.
Shawn + Nutcha’s met on a dating app, just like Jason + Emily actually. Nutcha said the reason she swiped right was because Shawn had picture with a dog in it. So if you have a dog, just share a bunch of photos of you with the dog and you’ll be golden, lol. They have 4 dogs now and she surprised Shawn at the reception with some cookies featuring their dogs’ faces. Btw, they got engaged on Nutcha’s birthday while they were out paddle boarding. Ikr! He brought her ring out onto the water! Don’t worry, it made to her finger safe and sound.
All Shawn + Nutcha wanted to remember from their photos was how much they loved each other + their family and friends surrounding them. Well, that wasn’t too hard to accomplish, because you could see how happy everyone was for them. From their first look and on, they couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces. Speaking of the first look, Nutcha left a kiss on Shawn’s tie and when she went to wipe it off, he stopped her and told her he wanted to wear it for the rest of the day. How sweet is that?! Also, I’m obsessed with Nutcha’s sparkly, white Keds. I wore sparkly, purple converse shoes on my wedding day, so I loved that little connection. I bet they were a lot easier to walk around and dance in all day too.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate how beautiful and perfect the Live Oak Plantation is?! This Pensacola wedding venue has so many amazing spots for photos and I love all the chandeliers and greenery permanently incorporated into the trees and big house. I had so much fun taking them around the property throughout the day to find the best light streaming through the trees or the big windows. The dark wood tones coupled with the string lights are absolutely dreamy. It’s so beautiful that you almost don’t even need to bring in your own decor. Having lots of beautiful florals is encouraged though!
