Fall Engagement Session at Vogel State Park, Georgia || Brett + Elizabeth

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year! When Brett and Elizabeth asked me to photograph their engagement session in the north Georgia mountains at the beginning of November when the leaves are at their most beautiful, I was sooo excited! Sure, it might’ve rained the whole time, but we didn’t have a care in the world. Btw, Brett actually asked me to photograph his surprise proposal to Elizabeth in the summer back in the summer on 30a, so it made me even more excited to photograph them again. The season of being a fiancé is such a happy time and I was so honored that they wanted me to document the next chapter in their story.

Fun fact: I found Vogel State Park on Instagram literally the night before. I had been researching locations for weeks, but figured I’d check one more time. I’m so glad I did, because this state park was so beautiful and peaceful. When I got there a few hours before their session, I was in awe of just how enchanting it was! The leaves on the trees and the ground were such pretty reds and oranges and the wetness from the continual drizzle enhanced the colors and vibrancy. The mist that hung in the air gave the whole scene such a dreamy and moody atmosphere. I had also been wanting to find a good vantage point to view the mountains, but I couldn’t find anywhere near online. Luckily I went to get some pizza before their session and passed by a scenic overlook on the way. Score!

Elizabeth had sent me their outfit options the night before too. I always love helping my couples choose the best outfits to compliment the environment. We went with the casual outfits first for walking around the state park to give the photos a care-free feeling. When she sent me a photo of her silky dress, I knew that it’d be perfect for the end of their session. It gave the photos a dramatic, romantic mood. We ran out of light really quickly, but it was fun utilizing their truck in the last part of the session and I love that you can see the rain falling around them.

I had so much fun getting creative with these two! If you’re looking for a creative photographer to capture your love in the North Georgia mountains (or any mountains really), hit me up!
