Fort Pickens State Park, Pensacola, FL || Sam + Ross
This session with Sam + Ross had the best energy. The way they love each other is so dynamic and the images have a way of showing that.
I had already gotten to photograph their family twice, so when they reached out for me to shoot their wedding, I was honored! When we planned their engagement session I knew it was going to be fun. I love when I get a chance to create art and think outside the box during a session. I’m so thankful my couples allow me to direct them in ways that will grant results like this. Sam + Ross wanted to be photographed as their true selves, them as a couple. Not as parents or responsible adults, but just them together in the moment they were in.
Sam + Ross are so energetic in their love for each other, that I just gave them simple directions and let them run with it. I love it when I can just step back and let couples do their own thing. The images I get to create and capture from that freedom are even more emotional and powerful. Towards the end of the session, I could tell they were so comfortable being in front of the camera, which is when we got some of my favorite photos of the whole evening.
They wanted the session to document their young love outside of their responsibilities as adults and parents and I think we accomplished just that. Sam + Ross said it felt like one big date night and they laughed pretty much the whole time.
Helping couples choose outfits for their session is something I love to do and I’m obsessed with what Sam pulled together. The neutral tones went so well with the surroundings of Fort Pickens. It’s so important to compliment your surroundings so the photos look more natural and focus on you instead of your outfits.
Fort Pickens State Park is such a beautiful place for photos. If you’re looking to do a session near Pensacola, let me know!
