Sun Daze Beach House Wedding in 30A || Jake + Kayla

I have another intimate wedding for you, but it wasn’t your typical beach wedding. It was elegant with lots of beautiful details and at the end of the night it was a big party! First off, the wedding was held in the backyard of the 30Away, Tan Lines, and Sun Daze Beach Houses. This group of houses are all connected, which made it a great place for everyone to stay together and hang out on the beach in the days leading up to the wedding. A Wedding Collection was the mastermind behind the reception and ceremony design and they blew my mind! The hanging white calla lilies in the clear tent were so unique. We have Florals by the Sea to thank for that magic. I’m a sucker for the simplicity of just white and greenery florals and I cannot recommend Renee and her team enough for making this wedding stress free and fun!

So this one was of those days where nothing ran on time. The main reason being the Ironman Triathlon was going on and traffic was crazy backed up on the street! Jake actually had to get out of his car and run to the venue so he could try to get ready on time. They handled it like champs though and by the time the ceremony finally started, they were beaming with excitement. We didn’t have much time for couples photos after the ceremony, so I took them onto the beach again after cutting their cake and I’m digging the flash photos that I took. I wanted it to seem as if I was just a family member following them around all night with a disposable camera, so I edited their nighttime photos to have a vintage film vibe to match the carefree vibes. I’m honestly obsessed! They remind me of the photos my mom would get developed at Kmart.

When I say their wedding reception was a big party, I’m not kidding! They had lots of silly props for the guests to wear, which I think helped them get out of their comfort zones. Lots of dance competitions were held on the dance floor and the microphone was passed around for everyone to sing into. I especially love the big group shot I was able to get with everyone. We had a sparkler exit at the end of the night, which is always fun and interesting. Poor Kayla though… the back of her wedding dress had ripped off by the end of the night and was barely hanging on. She had to hold it up, but she was still all smiles.

If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your fun wedding in the backyard of your beach rental in 30a, let's talk! Intimate, backyard weddings are my favorite!

Kayla: “SHE WAS INCREDIBLE. Honestly, my husband and I hate taking pictures and she made it so easy and fun! My photos turned out awesome and I actually got them early and in time for the holidays. I HIGHLY recommend - she was wonderful to work with and does amazing work.
