5Eleven Palafox Wedding, Pensacola, FL | Matthew + Rebekah

Matthew + Rebekah’s wedding was a beautiful, fall day. It was very spiritual and just so love-filled. They actually met at the Catholic church they decided to get married in. Faith is a huge part of both of their lives and how they originally connected.

There was so much symbolism in the ceremony. It included mass and communion which was a special moment for them as a couple. They also placed an offering bouquet at the Mary statue within the church. Lastly, as they left the ceremony there was a sword arch that they walked through. There were a lot of moments throughout the ceremony that represented different parts of their lives and it was beautiful to witness.

As a fun twist, Rebekah’s brothers always joked that they would show up in Dumb & Dumber suits on her wedding day and funnily enough they actually did! They also wore them the whole day, which is commitment.

After the ceremony, it was our time for portraits. I absolutely loved the way the light was pouring in through the church windows, so I asked them to step into it for some creative portraits. They ended up being my favorite photos from the day. Something Rebekah had mentioned when booking me was that she loved my nature shots that incorporated greenery, so when we left the venue we found a beautiful fountain and some gorgeous trees to take some pictures around.

Rebekah told me beforehand some moments she was super excited about for the wedding day. She wanted the day to be special for her parents as she is their only daughter which I thought was so sweet. She also said she was really excited for her and Matthew’s private last dance. She mentioned she obviously wanted the fun moments captured but also enjoyed the stillness after those moments. The private last dance really encompassed that perfectly. Getting to soak in the fun of the day while in the stillness of it ending.

Matthew + Rebekah had such a whimsical yet symbolic day and I am so happy I was able to document it. Would you like me to photograph your wedding day? Send me a message!
